Of all bright colors I know, red is the most versatile. It works with probably every neutral I have in my wardrobe. Though I have this fascination for the sensual color, it’s not really anything I can don everyday. Going to a red wedding, and as a bridesmaid, means another reason for me to look special and flaunt on the very color I find powerfully sexy.

Three months away from her wedding and my closet was in a complete turmoil finding the perfect red bridesmaid dress to wear. Wow, if picking a bridesmaid’s dress is already this chaotic, how much more if I become the bride myself one day? Though scarlet and deep garnet are my favourite red shades, they had the cardinal red and burgundy for me to choose from. I had the one in cardinal red as it appears the more romantic. The wedding isn’t until a few weeks more form now and I will come back to tell you how it went. But I have no doubt everyone will adore the gown! Red is indeed a fabulous choice for wedding wear. Apart from its irresistible appeal, I love its symbolic meaning. For other cultures, it is even a norm. It is the traditional wedding dress of most Chinese and Indian women, as it translates romance and joy. They have always embraced red and continues to do so. I’m glad the rest of the world are catching up.

I find it more appropriate to wear when I’m out with friends for some great party night or clubbing perhaps. Though this dress have padded busts, I don’t get very much of a support and have to wear some strapless push-ups with it still. Yet, it’s still one of my faves!

But if I’m off to somewhere requiring something more formal to wear, my red formal crystal knee-length dress would never get lost in the crowd. With a mix of satin and chiffon, this is the most appealing and elegant evening wear I have ever owned that truly attracts good attention. The crystal trim below the bust line is a perfect evening accent. I get a lot of compliments with this one.

There are more options of red dresses around. I have quite a collection. But from someone who has tried them all on, I believe satin really deserves the merit.

This silk-made red Guess mini dress has a sexy halter neckline that’s easy to flatter different shoulder frames. As I have quite lovely shoulders but a little flat on the bust part, this dress style worked quite some wonders in creating an illusion of fuller busts. I have to admit that’s what makes me like this dress a lot! Apart from the quality, this is indeed one of the comfiest wears I have.

My premiere Latin red sleeveless dress is kinda expensive for $341, not to count the 10% shaved off from its regular price. But the style it comes in would instantly make you wanna pay for it at once. Though the top does not hug your curves in any way, its fabric just falls beautifully towards your hips. Kinda one of the painful $341 I spent coz I got the chance to wear it only once. The bubble skirt design just won’t work with the kind of frame I’m built with. It makes my quite wide and full hips a little more on the heavy side and makes me even look a bit skimpy. If you have the body for this dress, it’s truly worth it though.

Of all that gives me the most gorgeous fit and seem to flatter my build and shape quite perfectly, my red Sexy Sleeveless Rhinestone evening mini dress is an exceptional option, at least for me. I’m not sure if it’s the empire waist design or the sheer straps and sweetheart neckline, but this dress just brings out my best. I may not have that full breast but the sexy rhinestone brooch takes all the attention away and turns my ensemble into one fabulous sexy red look.

But don’t forget, red is a bit loud a color itself. Bringing out its sophistication and class takes a lot from the wearer’s confidence and attitude. I must say a good fashion sense helps a lot too, the right shoes and accessories all work in pulling off quite a too sexy apparel like the red mini dress. Remember, in wearing red, there’s quite a thin line between looking fashionably edgy and being a fashion disaster.

And as red is truly an attractive color in itself, strapless dresses in this hue works a lot of wonders to the woman who dons it. I don’t understand why a lot of women have reservations against this color. No it’s not too dazzling as women call it, I would rather name it energy as the color has a lot. Besides, it’s the type of red you choose which could take you to the tacky side if that’s how you perceive the color. Sure there are plenty bolder brighter shades of red, and they’re pretty too. But if you’re having quite a struggle trying to pull of the hue, go for the more muted, earth-toned or azure shades of red.

The pleat details were simply gorgeous but my purchase didn’t turn out well for my heavy hips. It turns out that layer designs like this dress has, no matter how great-looking, would add more volume to fuller areas of your body. But if you’re slender, I would still recommend this one.
