Of all bright colors I know, red is the most versatile. It works with probably every neutral I have in my wardrobe. Though I have this fascination for the sensual color, it’s not really anything I can don everyday. Going to a red wedding, and as a bridesmaid, means another reason for me to look special and flaunt on the very color I find powerfully sexy.

Three months away from her wedding and my closet was in a complete turmoil finding the perfect red bridesmaid dress to wear. Wow, if picking a bridesmaid’s dress is already this chaotic, how much more if I become the bride myself one day? All the red dresses I had lined up are just so beautiful that it complicates things much more.

Look at this red satin long dress I have.

Its boned bodice sculpts my curves nicely and the padded busts supposed to enhance cleavage, as I am quite flat-chested, actually give me instant cleavage. I like the fact that it doesn’t have annoying linings of any sort, therefore allowing me to stay comfortable in it. The little bow accent is subtle and is not a show-stealer, yet adds grace to the whole dress.

As the previous described dress falls to the floor, its twin, as I call it since they kinda have similar qualities, was my second option as I haven’t checked with the wedding planner yet that time. Also made of stain, and of strapless design as well, my red holiday dress could always transition to a bridesmaid wear.

It has the same bow accent, yet this one comes in tea length. More sassy-looking yet I find the length more comfortable to wear.

This satin chiffon holiday and formal wear I own has elegant crystal trimmed accents right below the bustline which, apart from the chiffon sleeves creating quite perfect compliment to the whole satin dress, I believe is the most attractive part of the whole ensemble. I get a lot of praises everytime I wear this. It comes with a chiffon shawl which I never wear though.

But I guess all the stress and resourcefulness paid off. I finally found the one that will give me the prettiest bridesmaid look, yet never the kind that will upstage the bride. My red satin halter dress with crystal accent proved to be my lifesaver as it always is.

Haltered necklines seem to work perfectly for me all the time. This design comes in a lot of hues. Though scarlet and deep garnet are my favourite red shades, they had the cardinal red and burgundy for me to choose from. I had the one in cardinal red as it appears the more romantic. The dresses’ backless rearview adds sensuality to the whole ensemble. With no doubt, this became my final pick, and so did I wear it to the wedding. I dazzled everyone with its great fashionable style, and truly, I was the pretty bridesmaid.

If you’re having a red wedding and plans to have your flower girls in red as well, it will create an intensely romantic effect but at the same fairy-tale like however you wanna see it. Other wedding themes often adapt the red flower girl dresses effect as well, but matching the main wedding theme with the flower girls’ accessories to still create a unified look.

As red is known to be a too attractive color,  flower girls in red would never upstage the bride. I guess that rule only applies to grown women. Besides, if you see the kind of flower girl dresses I am talking about, you might wanna talk to your wedding planner again.

Something that would, by no doubt, look truly adoring on your flower girls, this red glittered flock dot satin dress my daughter wore on one of the family weddings made me the proudest mom that day.

It flounces beautifully as she moves while the fabric’s exceptional shine brought a lot of smiles as she trailed behind the bride. Though the glittered rings brought magic to it, I guess the bow tie sash at the back made the whole look cuter. A baby version of this dress, though my little girl have not tried it, is equally as lovely.

Another one for the younger flower girls is the satin and sheer basket weave red dress one of the girls wore on that same wedding.

Though I find the basket-weave design really appealing, I find the skirt too layered and there is no way, if I have a little girl young enough to wear this dress, would I allow her to even try it on as looked uncomfortable enough to me already. If dots and basket-weaves are not your cup of tea, metallic red for your flower girls would be another wonderful option. This dress is designed with an embroidered sheer overlay that makes any flower girl shine.

The ruffled crinoline underskirt is not uncomfortable at all, and in fact, my daughter loves this one better than the other. It comes with a red knit jacket, which I suggest, you better leave out.

Red flower girl dresses do bring a lot of gorgeous effect to your wedding. There are a lot more options around, but as how easy red captivates so many hearts, I don’t think you need more looking around to convince you.
